Why I'm Passionate About Working with Small Businesses

Before launching The Dependable Desk, I spent six and a half years building and running my own small business. During that time, I experienced the reality of wearing every hat. From marketing and admin to customer service and finance, I know how quickly the to-do list grows.

I also had the privilege of being recognised through my previous business as one of Small Business Britain's Small Biz 100, celebrating 100 of the nation's favourite small businesses. More importantly, it gave me the opportunity to meet and connect with inspiring business owners from across the UK.

What struck me was how similar our challenges were.

Regardless of the industry, we all seemed to face the same hurdles. We all had jobs we put off, admin that piled up and ideas we never quite found the time to implement.

That's when I realised that most small business owners don't need someone to run their business. They simply need reliable support.

What I Love About Working with Small Businesses

I'm passionate about supporting small businesses because:

  • I understand the realities of running one, having done it myself

  • Every business has its own story, and I love getting to know the people behind it

  • Small businesses are full of creativity, passion and determination

  • Changes can often be implemented quickly, meaning you see the benefits sooner

  • Small businesses can adapt and pivot with confidence, and it's rewarding to help make that happen

  • The support I provide has a genuine, visible impact on both the business and the business owner

I'm also proud to be a member of the Female Founders Communityin Leamington Spa, where I regularly meet and network with women running businesses across Warwickshire. Spending time with other business owners is always inspiring. The passion, resilience and creativity within the small business community is something I genuinely admire.

Why The Dependable Desk?

The Dependable Desk was built on the belief that business owners shouldn't have to do everything themselves.

Whether it's improving processes, managing administration, organising systems or simply taking tasks off your plate, my aim is to reduce the mental load and help your business run more smoothly.

Because when you're not worrying about everything happening behind the scenes, you have more time and energy to focus on the reason you started your business in the first place.

Helping small businesses feel more organised, more in control and less overwhelmed isn't just my job.

It's something I'm genuinely passionate about.
